Sandra Kowalczyk of Sun Prairie selected for Fulbright-Hays Summer Seminar

WEAC member Sandra Kowalczyk from Patrick Marsh Middle School, Sun Prairie, has been selected to travel to Peru for a four-week long Fulbright-Hays Summer Seminar.

According to the Sun Prairie Star, Sandra is the only Wisconsin teacher and one of only 16 educators in the country chosen to participate in this program administered by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

A National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy, Kowalczyk serves as Reading Specialist and Go Global Club Advisor at Patrick Marsh Middle School in Sun Prairie.

The Fulbright-Hays Summer Seminar will focus on exploring the indigenous heritage of Peru and its impact on education and current society.

WEAC member Sandra Kowalczyk from Patrick Marsh Middle School, Sun Prairie, is the 2015 Outstanding Middle Level Educator in the English Language Arts. This award recognizes exceptional English language arts teachers of grades 6-8 who have demonstrated excellence in teaching English language arts and inspired a spirit of inquiry and a love of learning in their students.
