Success Stories from Holmen Education Association

Holmen Education Association has had a busy year of successful endeavors.

We started an annual event at the American Legion, inviting both non-members and members to celebrate the end of the school year. We honor our retirees, share reasons about why we are HEA members and then members are allowed to vote to ratify the Base Wage Negotiation Agreement.

We also adopted a portion of the Halfway Creek Trail. Members meet twice a year to clean and maintain that portion of the trail, followed by a stop at the local watering hole! This is a beautiful aspect of our community and great public relations for HEA, as well!

HEA member, Christine Michels, designed an HEA logo for our group!  We had about 50 members order shirts and tote bags to help promote our association.

In March, WEAC announced that Holmen’s Viking Elementary was chosen as a flagship school to promote Read Across America! WEAC President Ron Martin and the Cat in the Hat himself visited Holmen as guest readers and enjoyed cupcakes sponsored by WEAC and Festival Foods. Each student at Viking received a brand new book and WEAC also contributed $500 to the school library for book purchases. It was a very special day and a great year for Holmen Education Association!
