Aspiring Educator Jenna Rheingans of Oshkosh is latest WEAC Badger Red for Public Ed winner!

Jenna Rheingans

Congratulations to Aspiring Educator Jenna Rheingans, the latest winner of our WEAC Badger Red for Public Ed promotion! The honor goes to WEAC members in appreciation for their dedication to students. Recipients are treated to a UW Badger athletic event.

Jenna will get VIP treatment at the January 26 UW Badger men’s basketball game against Northwestern at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Jenna, who graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 2015, will graduate next May from UW-La Crosse, where she is studying Middle Childhood through Early Adolescence (grades 1-8) Education with a minor in Mathematics Education.

“I want to be a teacher because I love watching kids make sense of their world,” Jenna says. “They are constantly making connections and looking at things in a way that is different from any other perspective I have seen before. I enjoy seeing the world through their lens on a daily basis; it helps me to think more creatively and see situations from new angles. Once I graduate I hope to teach middle school and eventually get my administrative license.”
