The Wisconsin Education Association Council has the safety of students, staff and communities at the forefront as school districts begin planning for schools to reopen. With many questions and concerns to address, educators are urging collaboration between local administrators, unions/education associations and other community stakeholders.
“Collaboration is imperative for a safe return to schools,” WEAC President Ron “Duff” Martin said. “WEAC’s platform, created by educators from across Wisconsin, balances educational goals with health and economic realities. This platform creates a path for districts to be sure all voices are at the table in reopening planning and provides structure for ongoing information sharing after local plans are put into action.”
