Changes are in the works for WEAC’s all-member print publication.
Beginning with the next issue in September, the publication now called OnWEAC In Print will have a significantly different look and approach.
In response to changing reader habits and needs, this publication will be reduced in size and frequency of publication. A team of WEAC staff members is currently reviewing design and publication schedule options for the 2008-09 school year.
The changes are in line with a New Business Item passed at the May WEAC Representative Assembly, calling for WEAC to switch the organization’s communications to an online format whenever reasonable.
Reducing the size and frequency of the print publication will save printing and mailing costs and allow staff to devote more resources to improving WEAC’s electronic communications through the Web site and e-newsletters.
Plans also are in the works to redevelop the Web site, although that will not likely be completed until later in the year.
Like the current OnWEAC In Print, the new publication will be closely aligned with the WEAC Web site. The print publication will highlight news, information and services available on the Web. It will be designed to be easier to read, with references to the Web site for additional information on topics, video reports, social networking opportunities and interactive services.
The publication is being redesigned based on member and staff input, and will be continuously improved based on your ongoing feedback.
