WEAC Region 6 Director Michael Walsh and WEAC Legal Secretary Deb Meylor are recipients of 2015 WEAC Staff Awards, known as the Cunningham, Dickinson, Watson Award. WEAC Executive Director Robert Baxter presented the award to Walsh at a meeting of WEAC and Region professional staff in Eau Claire and presented the award to Meylor at a meeting of the WEAC and Region associate staff in Madison.

School funding on ‘an unsustainable path,’ Evers says

Saying we are on “an unsustainable path,” State Superintendent Tony Evers asked the Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee Tuesday to make significant changes to the governor’s education budget. “We can’t eliminate achievement gaps, turn around struggling schools, increase technical course offerings, or address the increasing need to support our students without additional aids and spending authority,” he said.
