DeAnna Bruner is the latest WEAC-Badgers Outstanding Educator winner. A first grade teacher at Lakeview Elementary School in the Whitewater Unified School District, she said, “I absolutely love teaching!”
Bruner said the ability to provide new and unique learning opportunities for her students is what fosters that love of her profession. “I believe that at the heart of it all, the learning environment needs to be fun and challenging to meet everyone’s unique needs, but most importantly it needs to be a place where each and every person feels nurtured and accepted – and not afraid to try something new. This is what I try to provide for my students in hopes that they will gain independence and a love of learning.
“WEAC provides great support for teachers,” she continued, explaining why she is union member. “I am happy to be a part of this organization and the learning opportunities provided. I am currently in a WEAC cohort to obtain my National Board Certification.”
