Watertown English teacher Pam Suski is our latest WEAC-Badgers Outstanding Educator. Over her 28 years in the profession and as a union member, she says she has “taught anything and everything” in the English department, but for the last five years has focused on AP English Literature for seniors, English 9, Academic Decathlon and support for at-risk students.
“I love to teach because I love to learn myself, so I love learning along with the students, and I love watching them gain confidence in themselves as they become stronger readers, writers, and thinkers,” she said. “They all possess such interesting, unique personalities, so every day is different, and I never get bored.
“I am a union member because I understand the power of the united voice and I know that I directly benefit from the hard work that previous union members have done to give me everything from a benefit package to maternity leave,” she continued. “About 15 years ago I became even more active in the union, learning more about how we can not only support educators but students as well.”
