Milwaukee’s Alondra Garcia is the Recipient of the 2025 Tenia Jenkins Activist Award

Alondra Garcia from the Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association is the recipient of the WEAC 2025 Tenia Jenkins Activist Award.

Garcia is a Second Grade Bilingual Teacher at Allen-Field Elementary School.

“Alondra Garcia is the personification of the ideal of teacher who fights passionately for students, members’ rights and social justice,” said WEAC President Peggy Wirtz-Olsen. “She brings commitment and a concern for others to everything she does.”

Garcia was presented the award at the 2025 WEAC Representative Assembly in Wisconsin Dells.
