FoRT Support Sessions

Join members for our upcoming Foundations of Reading Test- FoRT (190) exam support sessions. These sessions will occur over five weeks starting on March 25, 2023. Each session will explore the sub-areas of the Foundations of Reading Test, including the writing portion, through articles, content discussion, practice tests, and example strategies for early literacy learners. All sessions will be held virtually from 8:00 am- 12:00 pm on Saturdays.  Link for sessions will be sent on Friday before the session. Register below for session(s).

Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions to maximize learning.

Session 1: March 25, 2023- Topics: Phonics & Phonemic Awareness, Concepts of Print &The Alphabetic Principle

Session 2: April 15, 2023- Topics: The Role of Phonics in Reading Development, Fluency, & Word Analysis Skills

Session 3: April 22, 2023- Topics: Vocabulary Development & Comprehension in Imaginative/Literary Texts

Session 4: April 29, 2023- Topics: Comprehension in Informational/Expository Texts & Methods for Assessing Reading Development

Session 5: May 6, 2023: Topics: Multiple Approaches to Reading Instruction & Integration of Knowledge (Writing)
