National Board Support Sessions

All sessions will be held virtually from 5:00-7:00pm.  Please register for all sessions at the bottom of this page, links will be sent out to you before the session.

National Board certification is the highest level of certification a teacher can attain. This rigorous process has personal, professional, and monetary rewards. This cohort will meet regularly to explore various components of the certification process and provide support for MTEA members attempting to earn this prestigious honor. Each session will begin with a presentation sharing tips and strategies for tackling the required components for certification followed by opportunities to work with trained mentors.

Focus: Component 4–Effective and Reflective Practitioner
Guidance for selecting appropriate assessments, identifying professional learning needs, and analyzing impact on student learning.

April 17, 2023, 5:00-7:00pm
Focus: Cutting the Fluff
Learn strategies for getting your written components down to the required page limit for submission.

May 1, 2023, 5:00-7:00pm
Focus: Component 1–Content Knowledge
Learn study tips and strategies for responding to the prompts on the content knowledge exam.
