The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks

August 10, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm

MTEA is pleased to welcome Dr. Jeanne Theoharis author of The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks. Register to learn more about the life of Rosa Parks participate in a virtual discussion, and receive a lesson plan you can use with students this fall.

“Presenting a corrective to the popular notion of Rosa Parks as the quiet seamstress performed a single act that sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott that birthed the modern Civil Rights Movement, Jeanne Theoharis provides a revealing window into Parks’ politics and decades of activism. She shows readers how the movement radically sought — for more than a half a century — to expose and eradicate the racial-caste system in jobs, schools, public services, and criminal justice and how Rosa Parks was a key player throughout.”

Join us on Tuesday, August 10 from 5-6:15pm. Please register below for the session.  This session will be held virtually and registration is required to receive the meeting link. Registration is closed for this session.
