WEAC – Anti-Racist Teaching Toolkit Kick-Off
May 9, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Many teachers recognize that anti-racism, or working to actively change policies, behaviors, and beliefs that perpetuate racist ideas and actions, is a natural part of our work with children. To that end, a group of member educators dedicated to anti-racist teaching created a dynamic teaching toolkit available to educators across Wisconsin. This toolkit focuses on the following four domains of learning that impact a child’s development and what they experience in school.
- Physical – sleep, hydration, nutrition, movement, stress management
- Emotional – thoughts/feelings about self
- Social – relationships with others
- Academic – intellectual curiosity
Join us in person or virtually for a kick-off session to learn what anti-racist teaching tools are available to you. This is a living toolkit – it will expand over time as we learn and grow ourselves as professional educators who are enthusiastically committed to anti-racist teaching.
Please complete the brief form below to register. Light hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks will be served for those attending in person. A reminder and Zoom link will be sent closer to the event.
