Kurt Handrich Receives Tenia Jenkins Activist Award
The Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC) has named Kurt Handrich as the 2021 recipient of the Tenia Jenkins Activist Award.
Handrich, an eighth-grade teacher at Aldrich Intermediate School in the School District of Beloit, was selected for the honor by a committee of Wisconsin Public School educators. He was nominated for the state award by Beloit teacher Tim Vedra, President of the Beloit Education Association.
“Mr. Handrich has stepped up to engage other educators, parents and the wider community during the pandemic,” said WEAC President Ron Martin. “His hard work, dedication and commitment to building personal relationships makes Mr. Handrich a successful organizer and a deserving recipient.”
