Laura Piehl, Drummond Elementary, Named Badgers Outstanding Educator
Laura Piehl, a kindergarten teacher at Drummond Elementary School and member of the Drummond Area Education Association, is a 2020-21 Badgers Outstanding Educator.
“My hope is to be a positive influence in my students’ lives every day,” said the 11-year educator. “I just want to provide them all with the opportunity to grow and learn in an environment where they feel valued and loved.”
Mrs. Piehl credits her colleagues for supporting her to be the best she can be, and she uses her expertise in standards and best-practices to benefit her entire district. Her husband Aaron, who is also a Drummond teacher, nominated her for the award. “I get to see first-hand the time and effort she puts in day and night to ensure her students happiness and success,” Mr. Piehl wrote, adding that she is quick to encourage, offer advice and lend a thoughtful ear to her coworkers. “Laura is the definition of a kindergarten teacher. She is innovative, technologically savvy and diligent. No one deserves it more.”
