Advocating for Justice

It's not enough to not be racist.

The Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC) is a union of educators who believe in opportunity for all students and in the power of public education to transform lives creating a more just and inclusive society. By becoming an ambassador for equity, educators with a commitment to social awareness and justice gain access to mentorship and resources, including expert advice, and reference materials. Our innovative, tiered approach is building a network of educator leaders across the state facilitating policy changes that impact all students.

There are three consecutive levels of training:

LEVEL 1 – GET STARTED
Equity Ambassadors build capacity for social justice work through exploring self, identifying collaborators and creating an equity plan.

LEVEL 2 – GROW YOUR TEAM
Equity Ambassadors are building equity teams within their school districts who are dedicated to continuing social justice work and furthering their journey toward social awareness and anti-racist education.

LEVEL 3 – EQUITY ACTION
Equity teams work in collaboration to implement policy changes that will result in equitable practices for students building and connections with the community, administrators and school board members.
