62 WEAC members earn National Board Certification in 2018

Sixty-two WEAC members recently joined the ranks of Nationally Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) in Wisconsin, and 26 renewed their certification. Known as one of the top honors in the profession, NBCTs are assessed by their peers on 5 core propositions of accomplished teaching. WEAC is the state leader in providing candidate support; WEAC supports include intensive summer Jump Start training, monthly in-person cohorts, an online prep course, virtual mentors, and a winter writing retreat.


WEAC mentors provide invaluable support to National Board candidates

National Board candidates and renewal candidates attended a support session on Saturday, April 7, at the WEAC building in Madison. The event was free and open only to WEAC members, who served both as mentors and students. Attendees said the support and guidance they received was invaluable as they progress through the demanding and rewarding National Board process. 21 WEAC members earn National Board Certification in 2015

Twenty-one WEAC members achieved certification through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, joining 1,826 nationwide who newly earned the National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) credential in 2015.

“Congratulations to our new National Board Certified teachers,” said State Superintendent Tony Evers. “It takes a true commitment to teaching our children and to the teaching profession to earn this credential. I commend these educators for completing this rigorous process.”
