How to contact the WEA Academy
Established in 1992, the WEA Academy provides all educators quality, needs-based professional development. Whether you’re looking for activities to support your Professional Development Plan, professional growth opportunities for re-licensure, or available ESP training programs, the WEA Academy can help.
The WEA Academy offers a number of options for graduate credit courses. The WEA Academy Signature courses are taught by Wisconsin classroom teachers and vary in topic and availability. These courses vary in cost depending on the number of credits available. We offer our Signature courses for credits through Viterbo University and those courses can be used as electives with Viterbo’s master’s program. These courses can be accessed through the WEA Academy website (weaacademy.org). They can also be taken for non-credit. They are a great way to meet some Professional Development Plan goals.
The WEA Academy also offers an online course “Foundations in Effective Substitute Teacher Training” that fulfills the state Department of Public Instruction’s requirement for issuing a substitute license to people holding a bachelor degree in a non education field. The course can be completed in approximately 15 hours and is done entirely online with the exception of a classroom observation. The class can be started at any time.
To sign up for this class, go to Foundations of Effective Substitute Training.
