About WEA Academy

Our History

Established in 1992, The WEA Academy is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation providing educators with quality, needs-based professional development. Our courses are effective tools for teachers because they are created by teachers. Teachers design our courses to accelerate professional growth through online collaboration with both the instructor and colleagues on today’s relevant topics. Courses emphasize practical application to the daily work of teachers and education support professionals (ESPs).

Why Select The WEA Academy?

The research is clear: An informed and inspiring teacher is the single most effective factor to advance student learning. That’s what drives the WEA Academy course offerings. At the WEA Academy, we recognize the best professional development experience is ongoing, collaborative, and connected to students and their communities. Courses for both professional and personal growth have been designed for teachers, educational support professionals, and aspiring (pre-service) educators.

Instructors at The WEA Academy are accomplished teachers experienced with their content as well as how to teach it. They are dedicated to both quality and personal attention. In addition, their experience with each respective topic makes your learning relevant and effective to your daily work. In other words, what you may learn in a Saturday session can be applied in the classroom on Monday morning.

Online & Blended Learning Courses
