The Region 2 Executive Committee consists of the Region’s President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and five members elected At-Large from the eligible delegates at the annual spring RA.
The Executive Committee is vested with the following duties and responsibilities:
a. Carry out directives of the Representative Assembly.
b. Receive, investigate, and research all issues and initiatives (WEAC, NEA, etc.) prior to Board consideration and, where appropriate, make a recommendation to the Board.
c. Take action on items that cannot wait for action by the Board.
d. Approve any requested expenditures that would exceed a line item in the Annual Budget.
e. Recommend to the Board the direction, goals, and priorities of the Region for the year.
f. Make recommendations for the hiring and termination of staff to the Board of Directors.
g. Take disciplinary action (short of termination) against employees when necessary.
h. Review approved annual expenditures at the beginning of each budget year (September).
i. Ensure there is adequate supervision of the day-to-day activities of all staff.
j. Make necessary arrangements for the fall meeting and for the RA.
Region 2 members may attend any Executive Committee meeting but will not have voting priveledges.
