Google for Educators: An Independent Study

In this course, you will examine Google’s Suite of Applications – commonly called Workspace (formerly G Suite) apps. The core Workspace apps are Drive, Docs, Slides, Forms, and Sheets.

Google Drive is where all of your documents can be found. Think of Google Drive as your online storage space that is analogous to a drive on your computer, but better, because it will never crash!

Google Docs is the Google counterpart to Microsoft Word or Apple’s Pages. They are best for outlines, creating tables, and other text-heavy documents.

Google Slides are analogous to Microsoft PowerPoint or Apple’s Keynote. They are the best tool for presentations.

Google Forms are a surveying and data collection tool and Google Sheets are the Workspace answer to Microsoft Excel and Apple Numbers.
