Waukesha County Technical College Enrollment Increases 11%
At a time when many colleges and universities are seeing crisis-level enrollment declines, enrollment at Waukesha County Technical College, where employees are members of the Waukesha County Technical Educators Association, is up 11 percent in just two years.
The college’s full-time equivalent students increased from 1,289 in fall 2022 to 1,434 this fall. The college is projecting a 3.5 percent increase in its total headcount, which counts full-and-part-time students individually. The number is expected to increase from 18,024 in 2022-23 to 18,650 in 2023-24.
The excellent instructors and staff are managing an environment that includes new degree and certificate programs, and dual-enrollment opportunities that allow high school students to take college courses. Also, the college now has two new liberal arts transfer degree programs with the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee that make it easy for Waukesha County Technical College students to transfer into the university to earn four-year degrees. These opportunities, combined with the top-notch instruction students receive, have made the college attractive to students with a broad spectrum of educational goals and aspirations.
