About WEAC

We advocate for great public education for the common good
Public educators are respected partners in developing an innovative and responsive educational system within each community that creates caring and responsible citizens of a global society.
The public schools we have today are the result of the investments, ingenuity and commitment of those who have come before us. Together, we embrace advocacy, collaboration, professionalism, social justice and economic security for Wisconsin's public school students, families and educators.

Meet our Leadership

The WEAC leadership team is made up of dedicated educators who are committed to advocating for members’ rights and strengthening the quality of education across the state.

Our History

WEAC focuses on improving members’ working lives through collective action, legislation, professional development, and public relations, while also advocating for children and the strength of public education throughout Wisconsin.

Awards & Scholarships

WEAC sponsors college scholarships for future teachers, along with awards honoring Wisconsin Public School educators and advocates.
WEAC President Peggy Wirtz-Olsen
I know that our schools are better when educators have a voice and a say in the conditions for their students.
Quote by: Peggy Wirtz-Olsen, WEAC President
An educator sitting at her desk looks up thoughtfully with a slight smile on her face.
