Bigby and Meyer Earn WEAC Rising Star Awards

Nia Bigby and Kate Meyer from Aspiring Educators-Madison are the recipients of WEAC 2026 Rising Star Awards.

Rising Star Awards are for Aspiring Educators or Early Career Educators who show particular promise as future leaders in their schools, communities and unions.

WEAC President Peggy Wirtz-Olsen said, “We are all looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Nia and Kate.”

Meyer was presented with the award at the 2026 WEAC Representative Assembly in Oshkosh.
