Four Leaders are 2026 WEAC President’s Award Recipients

WEAC President Peggy Wirtz-Olsen presented President’s Awards to John Havlicek of the La Crosse Education Association, Gail Kablau of WEAC-Retired, Ingrid Walker-Henry of Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association and Delia Watkins of Madison Teachers Incorporated. 

President’s discretionary awards recognize exemplary leadership and extraordinary effectiveness in members serving in WEAC leadership roles.

Wirtz-Olsen said, “These union leaders have not just stepped up to take on demanding leadership roles, they have excelled in those roles and continued to take on more responsibility, workload and personal risk for the sake of their students, schools, locals, regions and our union.”

Havlicek, Kablau, Walker-Henry and Watkins were presented the awards at the 2026 WEAC Representative Assembly in Oshkosh.
