Sun Prairie's Coyne is WEAC’s 2026 Excellence In Education Award Recipient

Joel Coyne is the recipient of the Wisconsin Education Association Council’s 2026 Excellence in Education Award.

Coyne is a business education teacher at Sun Prairie East High School and is also a 2026 Wisconsin Teacher of the Year and Wisconsin’s National Teacher of the Year.

“Joel brings passion for his students, profession and community to the classroom every day,” WEAC President Peggy Wirtz-Olsen said.

Coyne was presented the award at WEAC’s 2026 Representative Assembly in Oshkosh.
