What is Aspiring Educators?

Aspiring Educators of Wisconsin (AEW) is an affiliate of the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC) and National Education Association (NEA). The organization is open to all students, but we primarily serve students planning on entering into careers in education. Aspiring Educators was created as the Student program to WEAC, and serves as a proud advocacy group for public education. There is a Aspiring Educators chapter on every campus in the state, and we serve over 1,000 members. One of the wonderful parts of being a Aspiring Educators member, is that every member is part of a much bigger picture. The structure of the organization starts with you, at your local chapter and expands to a national scope.

Why Belong

Aspiring Educators exists with the purpose of sending quality teachers into public schools. Improving the field of education begins with quality teachers that care about their professions, and future teachers are the starting point of this movement.
We work to provide professional development opportunities, leadership seminars, community projects, volunteer events, political activism and advocacy for our students.
We meet as a state every three months to plan and collaborate. Campus chapters meet at their discretion to work in their communities, coordinate events, and provide professional learning opportunities for members.
